Calama El Loa Airport is located 6 km southeast from Calama city, within Antofagasta state.
On October 1, 2023 the operation of the third P3 concession began with "Sociedad Concesionaria Aeropuerto El Loa S.A.", a consortium comprised of Sacyr and AGUNSA. It mainly considers the expansion, repair, maintenance and replacement of existing infrastructure, equipment and facilities.
The airport is a strategic partner for mining and tourism industries in the area, thus the P3 concession aims for increasing flights and facilitating both passengers and cargo transportation.
The project includes:
· Expansion of the passenger terminal from 9,763 m2 to approximately 30,656 m2.
· More than 400 new parking spaces.
· Parking and apron capacity for commercial aircraft.
